چکیده

This paper presents a nonnegative subspace approach for packet loss concealment problem. The magnitude spectrogram of speech signal is projected onto nonnegative subspace using nonnegative matrix factorization algorithm. Consequently, packet loss concealment problem is transformed to linear interpolation of the projective coefficients in nonnegative subspace. Simulation examples, objective tests show that packet loss concealment in the nonnegative subspace results in improved perceptual quality of speech compared to popular packet loss concealment algorithms. Streszczenie. Zaprezentowano metodę subprzestrzeni dla rozwiązania problemu straty pakietu. Spektrogram amplitudowy sygnału mowy .jest poddawany projekcji do nieujemnej podprzestrzeni przy wykorzystaniu macierzy faktoryzacji. W rezultacie problem staje się możliwy do liniowej interpolacji. Osiągnięto dostrzegalną poprawę jakości przetwarzania sygnału mowy. (Metoda nieujemnej podprzestrzeni stosowana w przypadku straty pakietu)

Adaptive Spectral Separation Two Layer Coding with Error Concealment for Cell Loss Resilience

This paper addresses the issue of cell loss and its consequent effect on video quality in a packet video system, and examines possible compensative measures. In the system's enconder, adaptive spectral separation is used to develop a two-layer coding scheme comprising a high priority layer to carry essential video data and a low priority layer with data to enhance the video image. A two-step er...

Enhanced muting method in packet loss concealment of ITU-t g.722 employing optimized sigmoid function

In this paper, we propose an improved adaptive muting method using a sigmoid function for the packet loss concealment algorithm of ITU-T G.722 Recommendation. The packet loss concealment algorithm performs an adaptive muting to prevent the generation of unnecessary noise during packet loss recovery. While muting is linearly and discontinuously performed according to packet errors, our muting ap...

Novel adaptive muting technique for packet loss concealment of ITU-T G.722 using optimized parametric shaping functions

Adaptive muting method using an optimized parametric shaping function as a part of the ITU-T G.722 Appendix IV packet loss concealment algorithm is proposed. The packet loss concealment algorithm incorporating an adaptive muting scheme is known to prevent the generation of unpleasant sounds during packet loss concealment. However, original muting uses a piece-wise linear muting curve according ...

Robust transmission of packet video through dispersive packetization and error concealment

In this paper we present a new coding and packetization approach for intraframe coded video transmission, based on space-frequency dispersion. Subband-decomposed video data is packetized so that data appearing in any one packet is highly dispersed in both space and frequency. Each packet is a description of the frame at various points in space and frequency. Any errors arising from packet loss ...
